Sign in and out of the HBO app on TiVo
To sign in to the HBO app on your TiVo, you need the following:
- A phone or computer
- The username and password for your TV provider account

If your TV provider doesn't support HBO Max, here's how to sign in:
- Open the HBO app on your TiVo and choose Sign In. If you don't see Sign In, try to play a show or movie.
- You should see a 6-digit code. Stay on this screen while you grab your phone or a computer.
- On your phone or a computer, open a web browser. In your browser's address bar, type the url you see on your TV (HBOGO.com/tvsignin). This should redirect to activate.HBOGO.com.
- Enter the code that appears on your TV, and then choose Next. Need help? See Can't sign in on TiVo.
- Choose your TV provider. If your provider isn't listed, they may support HBO Max. To find out, go to I have HBO. Do I get HBO Max?
- Sign in to your TV provider account (enter the username and password for your TV provider account). Don't know your username or password? Contact your TV provider.
First time signing in?
We'll ask you to create a profile:
- Enter an HBO ID; this is a unique username for your HBO profile (and is not used for signing in). It must be between 3-14 characters and can't include spaces or special characters.
- Enter your email address and ZIP code (these fields are optional).
- Choose Create Profile.
Your TV screen will update and you're ready to stream HBO.
Can't sign in on TiVo
Where do I enter the code?
Try the following:
Choose this link: https://activate.HBOGO.com, or type https://activate.hbogo.com in the address bar of your browser. This should take you to an Enter Code screen.
Code is incorrect or doesn't work
Try the following:
- Try using another browser: FireFox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, or Safari.
- If you used your phone in Step 3 above, try using your computer instead (or vice versa).
- Get a new code. To do this, go back and choose Sign In again.
If you still can't sign in, try clearing your browser's cache. To find out how to do this, search your browser's help for 'clear cache.'
How do I sign out?
To sign out of the HBO app, do the following:
- Choose the Profile icon (upper-left) and then choose Sign Out > Sign Out Now.
