Signing in and out of HBO GO on Apple TV (tvOS, 4th gen and later)

HBO GO supports Apple's Single sign-on feature available in tvOS 10 or later. Single sign-on lets you sign in to your TV provider account in Apple TV Settings, and then apps like HBO GO will use those credentials to sign you in automatically.

Note  For help signing in on Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation), see Activating HBO GO on Apple TV. If you're not sure which Apple TV you have, go to Identify your Apple TV model

Sign in to HBO GO on your Apple TV

Optional: Set up Single sign-on for your Apple TV

First, you might want to set up Single sign-on. To set up Single sign-on on your Apple TV, go to Settings > Accounts > TV Provider and select your TV provider. Then sign in with your username and password for that provider. If you don't know your username and password, contact your TV provider. If you don't see your TV provider listed, then they don't currently support HBO GO on Apple TV. For more information, see Why doesn't my TV provider offer HBO GO?

Note: If you see the message "Sorry, [TV provider] doesn't support HBO GO", it might be that HBO doesn't support SSO for that TV provider. If this happens, it may be that HBO GO doesn't support SSO for your TV provider, but you can manually sign in using your username and password for your TV provider account (instructions below).

Sign in to HBO GO

  1. Make sure that you have tvOS 10.2 or later.
  2. Install the HBO GO app from the App Store. Or if you've already installed HBO GO, check to see if there's an app update (you need HBO GO version 9.0 or later).
  3. Open HBO GO on your Apple TV.
  4. Choose Sign In.
  5. Choose Allow when you're asked if HBO GO can use your TV provider information. If you've activated Apple's Single sign-on, HBO GO will use your TV provider information to sign you in.

If you're not using Single sign-on (SSO)
    :
  6. Choose your TV provider. If you don't see your TV provider, choose Other TV Providers and then choose your TV provider.
  7. Enter the username and password for your TV provider account. If you don't know your username and password, contact your TV provider. If you don't see your TV provider listed, then they don't currently support HBO GO on Apple TV. For more information, see Why doesn't my TV provider offer HBO GO?

How do I sign out of HBO GO on my Apple TV?
