Signing in and out of HBO GO on Roku

To sign in to HBO GO on your Roku, follow these steps:

  1. Download HBO GO from the Channel Store on your Roku player. 
  2. Open HBO GO on your Roku.
  3. From Welcome, choose Sign In and stay on this screen.
  4. On your computer or a phone, open a web browser and type HBOGO.com/activate in the browser's address bar.
  5. Select Roku as your device, and then select Continue.
  6. Choose your TV provider and then enter the username and password for your TV provider account. If you don't know your username and password, contact your TV provider. If you don't see your TV provider, see Why doesn't my TV provider offer HBO GO?
  7. Enter the code that appears on your your TV (from step 3), and then choose Activate Device.

You should see a Success message on both your TV and computer/phone. Sometimes it can take a couple minutes to complete.

Can't sign in?

If you have trouble signing in to HBO GO, try the following:

  • If you used your computer in Step 4, try using your phone or another browser. If you used your phone in Step 4, try going to HBOGO.com/activate on your computer.
  • Make sure you can sign in to HBO GO on another device. For example, try signing in at HBOGO.com or the HBO GO app on your phone or tablet (iOS or Android).

Signing out of HBO GO on Roku

To sign out of HBO GO on your Roku:

  1. Open HBO GO on your Roku.
  2. Scroll down and choose Settings and then choose Sign Out.
