Creating a new HBO GO profile after moving or switching TV providers

Sometimes when you move but don't switch TV providers, your TV provider will create a new account for you. If this happens you'll also need to create a new HBO GO profile and choose a new HBO GO ID. If you've switched TV providers, you'll also need to create a new HBO GO profile with a new HBO GO ID. Here's how:

Step 1: Choose another provider

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Computer: Go to and in the upper-right corner, choose Sign In. Below the TV provider sign in window, choose Select a different provider.
    • Mobile: Open the HBO GO app and tap Sign In. At the bottom of the screen, tap Choose Provider.
  2. Choose your new TV provider or college from the list of providers.
  3. Enter the username and password for your new TV provider account. If you don't know your username and password, contact your TV provider. HBO doesn't have access to this information.

Step 2: Complete your HBO GO registration

  1. Enter a new HBO GO ID; this is a unique name for your HBO GO profile. It must be between 3-14 characters and can't include spaces or special characters.
  2. Enter your email address and ZIP code.
  3. Choose Save.

Note: When you create a new HBO GO profile, your Watchlist, Continue Watching list, and Parental Control settings will all be reset.
